About The Position

The Arc Lexington is seeking a qualified Manager of Custodial Services to oversee custodial operations, facility maintenance, safety, and security across assigned locations. This position reports to the Director of Day Program Services and provides direct supervision to Custodian I and II staff across day and evening shifts. What You'll Do The Manager of Custodial Services is responsible for staff supervision, janitorial operations, inventory management, vendor coordination, building and grounds maintenance, safety inspections, emergency preparedness, and compliance with agency policies and procedures. This role actively participates on the Safety Committee and Security Response Team and provides emergency response support for alarms, fires, weather-related events, and facility incidents. Responsibilities also include managing janitorial equipment and supplies, overseeing snow and ice removal, coordinating custodial services for meetings and special events, ensuring building security, maintaining emergency evacuation plans, and supporting generator readiness and training. The Manager ensures all custodial staff receive required training, participates in performance management and progressive discipline, collaborates with job coaches on skill development, and promotes a safe, healthy, and supportive work environment. Compliance with confidentiality, safety regulations, and protected health information requirements is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid New York State driver's license
  • Minimum five years of building maintenance or janitorial experience
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
