About The Position

We are looking for a Compliance Operations Manager to take absolute ownership of the systems, processes, and relationships that are the backbone of our day-to-day operations. This role is about acting like a founder, building trust with clients and partners, and creating a culture of relentless execution and accountability in a high-growth environment. As the Compliance Operations Manager, you will lead the team responsible for handling critical financial compliance requests (such as Requests for Information - RFIs) from our banking partners. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on execution, building trust, and driving efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven Track Record: 5+ years of experience in operations, ideally within fintech, payments, or financial services.
  • Relationship-Builder: You have worked closely with clients and financial institutions and possess the ability to keep both sides aligned and confident in compliance procedures.
  • Extreme Ownership Mindset: You don't just respond to requests—you anticipate them, prioritize them, and close them fast, taking full responsibility for the outcome.
  • Scalability Mindset: You are able to look beyond mere execution to design processes for documentation, standardization, and ultimate scaling or automation.
  • Detail-Obsessed, but Pragmatic: You understand when to scrutinize details and when to prioritize the speed necessary for business outcomes.
  • Strong Reporting Skills: Ability to create and maintain performance dashboards (Jira or similar tools) and clearly articulate process improvements and performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
  • High-Accountability Leader: You set a high bar for excellence and relentlessly drive yourself and your team to meet it.

Responsibilities

  • Act Like a Founder: Take absolute ownership of every compliance request—ensuring clients receive clear communication and banking partners receive expected documentation without delay.
  • Simplify Communication Flows: Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients and financial institutions, serving as the critical point of contact who makes compliance frictionless and reliable for all key stakeholders.
  • Own Compliance Operations End-to-End: Ensure all core systems, including transaction monitoring, KYC/AML documentation, and reporting, are behaving as intended, protecting the business, our clients, and our banking partners.
  • Drive Urgency and Accountability: Build a team culture where relentless execution is non-negotiable, deadlines are sacred, and the job isn't finished until it's done right.
  • Build Scalable Processes: Identify risks and close gaps by designing workflows that balance regulatory rigor with operational efficiency. Design processes that can be templatized, documented in a knowledge repository, and scaled to junior resources, ultimately enabling future automation or outsourcing.
