About The Position

The Manager of Centralized Staffing is responsible for day-to-day operations and leadership for department that provides for the staffing needs throughout all three acute care facilities in the organization. Role consists of wide range of duties and responsibilities for the coordination, supervision and education of staff for Patient Companions, Admission Team members, and Float Pool Nurses. The Centralized Staffing Manager will work with Grand Central to facilitate hiring and training of sufficient staff to provide excellent care. Leads the teams in accordance with the organizational goals and standards set by senior leadership. Expected to follow all state and federal regulations and uphold the organization’s mission, vision and values. Must ensure department provides high quality, efficient and fiscally responsible services to the community served. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, the ability to work well and maintain positive relationships with a variety of leadership, patient, families and local care facilities. Successfully meet patient care and Float Pool staffing service needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years health care experience and 3 years in leadership.
  • Experience in resource pool management and staffing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred.
  • If the Centralized Staffing Manager does not have a Florida RN license, an RN in leadership will facilitate education and competency evaluation for licensed nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes positive relationships through regular communication and collaboration, providing feedback that supports success of the individual team member and the team.
  • Acknowledges the scope of leadership, accepting responsibility for the contribution to clinical, organizational and fiscal success of the organization.
  • Responsible for implementing and following department and organizational policies and procedures to teams.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and provides ongoing education; collaborates with RN leadership to provide clinical education to and competency evaluation of licensed nurses.
  • Support and maintain organizational standards set for dept.
  • Successfully conducts day to day operations of Staffing Services teams utilizing effective leadership skills.
  • Ensures adequate resources, supplies, and equipment are available for department operations.
  • Ensures scheduling and assignment of Patient Companions, Admissions Team members, and Float Pool Nurses is adequate to provide high standard, quality services in the community to ensure patient needs are met and team success.
  • Ensures data collection to track department goals are met and successfully implement improvements as needed.
  • Assist with development and adherence to department budget.
  • Monitors human resource allocation to assure that department is within FTE allocations and eliminate avoidable overtime.
  • Monitors supply, and equipment resources to ensure department use of items is fiscally sound option.
  • Departmental activities meet compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Models high ethical standards, advocating against fraud and abuse.
  • Educate staff related to compliance with policies and procedures and department standards.
  • Benchmarks and involved with quality improvement, developing and completing performance improvement projects as appropriate for supervisory teams.
  • Knowledgeable in implementation of system Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Interviews, hires, and ensures adequate orientation of qualified candidates.
  • Allows for staff recognition; Provides timely corrective actions and educational plans to maintain set standards of team and organization.
