About The Position

As part of the People Team, The Manager of Attorney Talent serves as the primary contact for associates in the C&F practices in the Americas. The Manager is responsible for supporting associates through their life cycle from on boarding and integration through offboarding. This role will serve as an accessible resource, helping associates navigate feedback, staffing, professional growth and career decisions. They will partner with the Head of Talent for C&F, the Americas C&F Leadership team, and the Americas Attorney Talent team, and the C&F Operations team to implement and manage C&F programs that directly support associate success. They will report to the Director of Attorney Talent and Development. In addition, they will work closely and interact regularly with other members of the People team. This position will be located in our Washington, D.C. office.

Responsibilities

  • ASSOCIATE EXPERIENCE & ADVOCACY Serve as a trusted first point of contact for C&F associates and counsel on people‑related matters, providing guidance, context, and support throughout their tenure at the firm.
  • Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities affecting associate morale, development, workload, and retention, and elevate insights to the Director of Attorney Talent and Development, HRBP, and practice leadership as appropriate.
  • Act as an advocate for associates by balancing individual needs with practice and business priorities.
  • MANAGEMENT, UTILIZATION & TRANSITIONS Monitor associate utilization and capacity, proactively flagging potential issues and partnering with Practice Operations, PALs, and Director of Attorney Talent and Development to address them.
  • Conduct exit interviews for all C&F attorneys, with a focus on identifying themes and actionable insights related to associate experience and retention.
  • TALENT MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT Partner with practice leadership and PALs to support thoughtful staffing and resource planning, with a focus on equitable workload distribution and meaningful skill development for associates.
  • Manage the feedback and review processes for Americas C&F associates and counsel Support Associate professional growth by:
  • Assisting with staffing solutions aligned to development goals.
  • Coordinating with C&F knowledge lawyers to integrate training, knowledge, and skill‑building resources into day‑to-day work.
  • ONBOARDING AND INTEGRATION Support associate recruiting needs and approval processes.
  • Manage and enhance the associate onboarding experience, with particular emphasis on successful lateral integration and early engagement
  • LEADERSHIP SUPPORT Establish a trusted advisor relationship with the C&F Americas Leadership team, working closely with the global HR Business Partner, the Director of Attorney Talent and Development, and C&F Practice Operations to support strategic objectives while advancing a positive and effective associate experience.
  • Collaborate with global specialist teams—including Lead and Learn, HRIS, Talent Management, and Inclusion—to ensure C&F associates have clear, timely access to People team resources and support.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the practice’s business environment to provide informed guidance and align people strategies with the development, engagement, and retention needs of associates.
  • CULTURE & ENGAGEMENT Partner with colleagues across Business Services to propose and implement initiatives responsive to:
  • Engagement survey feedback
  • Industry trends
  • Associate‑identified needs
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing culture that enhances the day‑to-day experience of associates.
  • Participate in and support the firm’s global Responsible Business program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
