About The Position

This role is for a Manager, Nursing at the UHealth Transfer Center, located at UHealth Tower - East. The manager works with leadership to optimize room and staff allocation across units, serves as administrative authority for patient flow and the UHealth Transfer Center, and addresses urgent concerns with relevant staff. The position involves completing employee evaluations, recommending policy revisions, assisting with budget preparation, reviewing staffing schedules, and maintaining familiarity with clinical and business systems. It also requires providing leadership in building loyalty and commitment, establishing and assessing internal controls, and ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Registered Nurse Licensing (RN)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

Responsibilities

  • Works with leadership to determine the optimal allocation of rooms and staff, daily and on each unit.
  • Serves as administrative authority for the smooth functioning of all units as it relates to patient flow and for the UHealth Transfer Center.
  • Notifies administrator, associate administrator, nurse manager or other relevant staff of urgent concerns during the shift.
  • Completes evaluations for employees in the department.
  • Recommends establishment or revisions of policies, and develops organizational structure and standards of performance to ensure legal compliance and high-quality standards.
  • Assists with annual budget preparation by identifying supply and equipment.
  • Reviews schedule to assure that staffing is in place.
  • Maintains a high level of familiarity with systems that support clinical and business functionality.
  • Provides leadership in building loyalty and commitment throughout the department.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
