Such responsibilities encompass the internal functioning of the department, which facilitates the functioning of the overall organization. The Manager supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current licensure/permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • BSN required or must complete within 2 years
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to providing patient care.
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience preferred
  • Appropriate clinical experience
  • The following are required and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Heart Hospital i. ACLS completion within 3 months
  • Adult Critical Care i. ACLS completion within 3 months ii. TNCC
  • WIH i. ACLS completion within six (6) months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout employment ii. NRP completion within six (6) months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout employment iii. Intermediate fetal monitoring (AWHONN) first available class after 6 months of hire and must maintain throughout employment iv. STABLE within 12 months of hire or promotion; does not have to be maintained
  • Children’s i. PALS completion within six (6) months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout employment ii. NRP completion within six (6) months of hire or promotion, and maintain certification throughout employment iii. STABLE within 12 months of hire or promotion; does not have to be maintained
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others
  • Ability to remain calm under stress
  • Ability to respond to pages
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information (including financial data) and make independent decisions
  • Ability to repeatedly twist, squat and stoop
  • Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds) grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to work in computer literate environment to include word, Power Point and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates leadership in the provision of departmental services through a collaborative process designed to integrate services/functions throughout NWTHS.
  • Participates in and supports a process to measure, assess, and improve performance of management, clinical, and/or support services.
  • Maintains regulatory compliance as related to Joint Commission, CMS, TDSHS, and the Board of Nursing.
