Job Description Perform Service Recovery & Administration of IBM MQ, Connect Direct and Apache Kafka to ensure minimal downtime and business continuity. Monitor and ensure availability, performance, and security of Middleware platforms. Conduct Disaster Recovery (DR) testing in coordination with business and infrastructure teams. Involved in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for critical incidents. Provide 24x7 on-call support during assigned shifts and respond to severity 1 incidents under pressure. Troubleshoot issues in MQ, Kafka streaming, and Connect:Direct file transfers across production and DR environments. Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity and data transfer issues. Worked with L1 in monitoring system performance and proactively address potential issues.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 4 years of experience in IBM MQ, IBM Connect Direct
  • At least 2 years of experience in Kafka
  • Good knowledge in shell scripting
  • Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Unix, Microsoft Windows
  • Middleware Systems: IBM MQ (Distributed), IBM Connect:Direct (NDM), Apache Kafka.
  • High Availability & Clustering: MQ RDQM, Kafka clusters, HA and DR setup.
  • Security: MQ SSL/TLS configuration, Connect:Direct secure transfers, Kafka authentication & authorization.
  • Scripting: Shell/Perl/Python scripting for automation of MQ, Kafka, and Connect:Direct tasks.
  • Monitoring Tools: Splunk, Kafka monitoring tools (Confluent Control Center, Grafana).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, incident management, and RCA methodologies
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage critical incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders during high-impact incidents and recovery efforts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a bank is a plus
  • Experience in Monitoring tools like splunk, Geneos, Grafana is a plus
  • Experience with Linux System is a plus
  • File Transfer solutions (SFTP, MFT,Control M) knowledge is a plus.
  • VMWare knowledge is a plus.
