About The Position

The Manager, Materials Management is responsible for the management of Warehouse, Receiving, PAR management, Inventory Management, Mail Room, Fleet and Copy Center. Responsible for management of department employees in multiple locations, with a 7 day a week responsibility. The Manager actively coordinates functions and activities of the Materials Management Department including but not limited to; participation in the hiring process; training; employee evaluations, competency and disciplinary actions, coaching and team building. Marshall is a nonprofit community healthcare provider located in the heart of the Sierra Foothills. Our history stems back to 1956, when the community banded together to build a modern hospital for El Dorado County. Since opening our doors in 1959, Marshall has been proud to maintain our status as an independent hospital whose governance remains local. Marshall includes Marshall Hospital, a fully accredited acute care facility with 111 beds located in Placerville; several outpatient facilities in Cameron Park, Placerville, El Dorado Hills, and Georgetown; primary and specialty care clinics, more than 190 affiliated physicians and providers, as well as a team of more than 1,600 employees providing quality healthcare services to residents of El Dorado County. Marshall’s executive leadership is governed by a local board of directors who volunteer their time to represent the needs and interests of a growing community. Marshall also has a dedicated group of Auxiliary members, adult and junior volunteers that lend their support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (in management or related field) required.
  • Must meet all DMV requirements listed below.
  • 6 years of materials experience required, with at least 2 of those years as supervisory experience.
  • Proven knowledge and ability to use supervisory principles and skills preferably in hospital environment services.
  • Working knowledge of Word/Excel software required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Typing 30+CWPM preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to reprioritize workload as needed.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and the ability to work independently using problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in hospital materials management, in a leadership role strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the physical inventory process preferred.
