About The Position

The Manager, Maintenance & Facilities leads all maintenance, repair, and facility operations in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment reliability, optimal facility conditions, and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The position requires strategic planning, hands-on leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives to support complex and varied production requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years in maintenance, facilities, or manufacturing operations; experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years leading a team of technicians in a 24/7 operation
  • This position may require access to ITAR-controlled technical data and services. As such, all applicants must be U.S. persons, as defined by ITAR, to be considered for this role.   • Deep knowledge of maintenance strategies, facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), and equipment reliability best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with proven success resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.
  • Respected technical leader with strong understanding of safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience driving preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Advanced problem-solving using DMAIC, Lean, TPM, 5 Whys, PFMEA, and related methodologies.
  • Drives maintenance and facility projects from identification through implementation and closure.
  • Process-oriented with ability to optimize workflows, prioritize competing demands, and manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Strong business awareness; understands operational, financial, and strategic impacts of maintenance and facility decisions.
  • Experienced managing service contracts, budgets, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, maintenance management software (CMMS), and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrates urgency, strong time management, and results-driven execution in a dynamic production environment.
  • Clear and adaptable communicator across all organizational levels.
  • Effective at coaching, conflict resolution, and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • High integrity, inclusive mindset, team-oriented, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Energetic, accountable, and demonstrates a strong “can-do” attitude in leading teams and driving continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in English required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diverse manufacturing equipment.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance reliability and production efficiency.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of facilities to ensure smooth and safe operations.
  • Manage service contracts cost-effectively while maintaining high service quality.
  • Ensure staff consistently provides positive and prompt responses to internal requests.
  • Maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
  • Plan and execute facility upgrades, renovations, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop, prepare, and explain the annual facility budget.
  • Monitor maintenance and facilities expenditures, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, maintenance costs, and safety metrics.
  • Drive innovation by developing and implementing facility and maintenance best practices.
  • Support new product introductions and process changes from a maintenance and facility perspective.
  • Apply Lean, TPM, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance and facility staff.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet production needs in a high-mix environment.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, operational excellence, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement teams to align maintenance strategies with manufacturing requirements.
  • Act as a key partner in problem-solving and operational planning.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support operational and strategic objectives.
