About The Position

About the Role Advance Auto Parts is seeking a Manager, Logistics – In‑Market Network Design to own the routing design and systems governance that power our Parts‑Delivered‑Quick (PDQ) network. This role ensures accurate delivery promises (ETAs), stable routing logic, and cost‑effective service for stores and professional customers through OMS routing design and a controlled transition away from legacy AS400 processes. This role is the business owner for In ‑Market routing design and OMS routing logic, and is expected to evolve the operating model from person‑dependent execution to a documented, repeatable governance system. Scope & Impact Own routing governance that enables reliable fulfillment paths and ETAs for PDQ, store‑to‑store, and hub transfers. Lead a small routing team (plus offshore/partner support as applicable) and build repeatable playbooks/ SOPs that scale. Partner cross‑functionally with Transportation leadership, field execution, and OMS/IT to drive stability, performance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in transportation/ logistics , last‑mile delivery, routing/network design, or transportation systems governance.
  • Experience owning or influencing routing systems/planning engines (OMS/TMS/routing tools), including change management.
  • Strong analytics and communication skills—able to translate data into operationally viable routing decisions.
  • Proven cross‑functional leadership with operations, technology/product teams, and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience transitioning away from legacy routing platforms (e.g. AS400) while maintaining operational continuity.
  • Power BI and/or SQL experience for performance reporting and insight generation.
  • Continuous improvement mindset (Lean / Six Sigma) and ability to build repeatable governance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain , and govern OMS routing structures and weekly route schedules to balance service, speed, and cost-to-serve.
  • Own routing logic enhancements and operational readiness in partnership with OMS/IT (requirements, testing, rollout, and adoption).
  • Maintain PDQ/B2B route structures in AS400 as during transition and reduce legacy dependency over time.
  • Lead routing readiness for new hubs, market hubs, and new store openings—starting 20– 24 weeks pre–go-live—with clear milestones and stakeholder alignment.
  • Establish performance rhythms (KPIs, scorecards, defect triage) to monitor route integrity and drive corrective actions.
  • Coach and develop analysts; convert tribal knowledge into durable processes and a scalable operating model.
