About The Position

Hilltop Holdings is looking for an IT Engineering Manager to plan, lead, and manage the application of state‑of‑the-art information processing and engineering techniques to deliver secure, reliable infrastructure solutions across the organization. This role provides hands‑on leadership and strategic oversight for a team of IT Engineers supporting enterprise infrastructure. The IT Engineering Manager plays a critical role in ensuring infrastructure environments are designed, implemented, and maintained with a “Security First” mindset , balancing innovation, resiliency, scalability, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5 + years' experience in information technology management.
  • 7+ years of experience in information technology infrastructure hardware and systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills required.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to analyze work products, systems, and processes at a detailed level.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as various business solutions and custom applications, systems, and software.
  • Must have the ability to learn and utilize systems and applications continuously.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, supports, and optimizes key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems
  • Plans, implements, and administers the organization’s infrastructure hardware and systems with a security first mindset
  • Oversee management of the data centers, production scheduling, communication networks (voice and data), and infrastructure systems operations
  • Schedules and directs the maintenance and support of infrastructure hardware and software based on established SLAs
  • Provide roadmaps, evaluations and recommendations of emerging technologies including lifecycle management (including datacenter infrastructure and remote locations)
  • Partners with other Technology leadership to determine architecture strategies and standards
  • Partners with current and future vendors for purchasing, contracts and renewals to ensure best pricing and accurate product selection
  • Assess and budget accurately for future purchases and develop deployment plans for new infrastructure
  • Assess risks, vulnerabilities and mitigations of existing systems to ensure these systems are highly available, operationally sound, secured and exceed customer expectation
  • Manage the quarterly and annual planning, team objectives, individual goals, deliverables, hiring, development plans, and performance reviews
  • Review and deliver evidence in support of any internal or external audits
  • Act as an escalation point for outages and service requests
  • Experience with cloud (Azure, AWS) architecture and solutions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
