About The Position

This is a multiple‑location posting. The selected candidate may be based out of our Exelon Corporate Office locations in Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, Chicago, IL, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, Kennett Square, PA, Washington, DC The purpose of the Data Governance Office is to provide a framework of policies, standards, roles, and processes that ensure Exelon's data is high-quality, secure, accessible, and compliant while enabling better decision-making, operational efficiencies, and risk management while aligning data use with strategic business goals. These principles inform the Data Governance Organization roadmaps to ensure the critical data is being used correctly and providing the expected business outcomes. The Manager, IT – Data Quality is responsible for enforcing and implementing enterprise data quality standards, as well as data lifecycle management policies on both structured and unstructured data. This role will develop the core processes and artifacts required to apply data quality practices to Exelon’s defined critical data. In addition, the position will establish quality metrics and dashboards that enhance data trust, support regulatory defensibility, and enable AI readiness. The Manager will collaborate with project teams and internal stakeholders to enforce enterprise data quality standards, implement data lifecycle management for both structured and unstructured data, provide oversight for data product development, and advance AI readiness for business use cases. They will be responsible for developing comprehensive roadmaps to support our critical data, key metrics and dashboards, and data for AI use case efforts. They will provide technical expertise to align IT solutions with architectural standards within the overall data governance process, ensuring that all data management processes are adhered to for IT, Innovation, and Business-initiated projects. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of data governance & data management, particular data quality. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen interest in staying abreast of industry trends. The Manager, IT – Data Quality will support the development of data quality standards for technology solutions by participating in the AEF process, large programs in flight, AI uses cases, critical data integrations and ensuring data meets business needs. They will offer data guidance, direction, and insights to project managers and stakeholders regarding data quality improvements within the enterprise environment. The role also involves participating in the development and roadmaps of enterprise data products. The Manager, IT – Data Quality must be adaptable for special projects or initiatives when required and work closely with internal and external teams as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field)
  • In lieu of degree, 9–12 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in database platforms, data management, Big Data, and data analytics/virtualization architecture, design, and implementation, with a strong track record of leadership in technical roles.
  • Knowledgeable of data governance and data management principles.
  • Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica preferred.
  • Experience leading and managing IT projects or subteams and knowledge of IT project management
  • Experience leading and managing technical personnel
  • Strong judgment and excellent analytical ability
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of IT and business management and with vendors
  • Experience managing budgets for functional area of responsibility

  • Proven experience in data quality and/or data lifecycle management solutions.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills specifically in Data management, and data analytics technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry compliance standards and regulations relevant to data management, such as NERC/CIP.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies, as they relate to large-scale data technology deployments.
  • Experience with capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational support for enterprise data systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT staff and resources in accordance with the IT Business Plan. For projects, plan and manage scope, schedule, and budget for defined deliverables in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations or application maintenance, plan and manage to defined service level agreements at agreed-upon budgets.
  • Operate utilizing standard processes as defined within the Management Model. Oversee process improvement efforts and ensure adoption of standard processes and procedures that deliver sustainable, top-quartile cost and performance levels.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with business and IT partners. Communicate status to key stakeholders on a regular basis, particularly as it relates to data quality initiatives, delivery milestones, and risk management.
  • Maintain current business knowledge and acumen, including the application of technology and data-related solutions to deliver business results and support enterprise decision-making.
  • Strategic Vision and Leadership: Develop and articulate strategic visions for data quality both structured and unstructured, and data lifecycle management. Provide thought leadership on industry trends, aligning data strategies with business goals, and driving organizational change through innovative solutions.
  • Data Quality Evolution: Improve quality on critical data and data products to meet data standards and product team requirements. Leverage data governance platform to develop an enterprise data quality scorecard. Continuously integrate advancements in data to improve maturity and adoption.
  • Advisory Expertise & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to business architects and product owners. Ensure that data quality meets business requirements and provide expert guidance on complex data quality challenges.
  • Data Lifecycle Management: Work with cross-functional teams to remediate both structured and unstructured data. Promote a cooperative environment to ensure successful project outcomes and seamless technology integration.
  • Data Evaluation and Selection: Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of data technologies. Conduct thorough analysis and testing to identify the best solutions for organizational needs and future growth.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $124,800.00/Yr. – $171,600.00/Yr.
