About The Position

Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, Plains handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Job Purpose/Summary: The Manager works within Operational Integrity and provides program development and direction for the company’s internal corrosion control program assuring that the execution of the program is carried out in accordance with the process and procedures. Responsible for developing and tracking KPI’s that demonstrate the effectiveness of the program and making any changes that drive progress and improvement to the existing program. Working with other groups in the department to assure the Internal program aligns with the vision and direction of the department. Reporting directly to the Manager of Operational Integrity located in Houston, TX. Requirements

  • 10 years minimum experience in internal corrosion related discipline in pipeline system operations.
  • AMMP Basic Internal Corrosion Application of 49 CFR 195 and various applicable industry standards.
  • Demonstrate risk mitigation for pipeline and facility threats.
  • Knowledge of operation, capabilities, and limitations of cathodic protection, and internal corrosion systems.
  • Capable of resolving complex problems, and development of strategies for resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in difficult situations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of coworkers in a diverse community.
  • Ability to translate technical, digital, and complex analytical data to an easily understood terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn additional computer programs or technology.
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.

Responsibilities

  • Main point of contact for any internal corrosion program related issues for North America.
  • Responsible for Internal Corrosion Control of all assets including facilities and pipelines.
  • Develops and deploys strategies to close identified gaps to proactively manage the integrity of assets.
  • Assists in the development of the annual budget, forecasting and creating long-range plans.
  • Participates in audit preparation, attendance, and regulatory responses.
  • Collaborate with other integrity leaders for consistency of programs and workflows across the department.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to direct reports.
  • Participates in the development of internal corrosion management plans and procedures.
  • Interprets business partner needs, assesses requirements, and identifies and implements solutions.
  • Gathers best practice information from external sources to create a compelling case for change/improvement throughout the organization.
  • Develops and uses tools to assess ongoing performance, measure results, and encourage superior achievement.
  • Collaborates with teams across the organization to break down barriers to develop and achieve organizational goals.
  • Effectively deliver internal corrosion programs to internal stakeholders to assure alignment with organizational business needs.
  • Inform senior leadership of events and group status updates.
  • Provides SME input to commercial, operations, and project engineering.
  • Builds effective relationships with employees to increase influence, motivate employees, and create high performing teams.
  • Provides opportunities for team members to build skills and behaviors through coaching, training, and challenging on-the-job assignments.
  • Sets clear expectations, provides resources, gives direction, and helps employees focus on and prioritize their career goals.
  • Conducts ongoing conversations, including coaching, feedback, and check-ins for employee development.
