About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Manager (RN) for a permanent leadership opportunity in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The ICU Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of daily unit operations, staffing, and clinical practice within the Critical Care environment. This role is responsible for monitoring and evaluating nursing care delivery in accordance with established policies and procedures, while holding staff accountable for quality outcomes, patient safety, and clinical excellence. The Manager plays a key role in operationalizing evidence-based practices, supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and engagement within a complex, high-acuity ICU setting.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the position you are applying for.
  • Florida RN licensure REQUIRED.
  • Recent (within the last year) Acute Care leadership experience in Critical Care REQUIRED.
  • Charge RN: minimum 5 years (relief charge does NOT qualify)
  • Supervisor: minimum 3 years
  • Manager: minimum 2 years
  • Leadership experience must be within the Critical Care setting.
  • BSN preferred (ADN accepted if actively enrolled in a BSN program).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) REQUIRED.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

  • Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to standards of care and regulatory requirements.
  • Support reduction of clinical practice variation and improvement in efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Manage admissions and discharge processes to support efficient throughput and patient-centered care.
  • Facilitate effective interdisciplinary coordination across departments.
  • Ensure staff assignments align with patient acuity and required clinical competencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing practice and unit operations.
  • Lead initiatives that support exceptional patient experience and engagement.
  • Inspire staff alignment with organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage staffing schedules and productivity in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Oversee operating expenses and identify cost reduction opportunities.
