About The Position

Community Health Network is seeking a Manager of Instrument Processing for their new state-of-the-art hospital in Westfield, IN. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a sterile processing team from the ground up. The Manager will oversee all processes within the Sterile Processing Department, including reprocessing surgical instruments, strategic planning, and maintenance of capital-related items. The position requires close partnership with Surgical Services, physicians, and interdepartmental teams to ensure uninterrupted surgical operations, quality outcomes, and a high-performing, engaged team. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is required
  • Five (5) or more years of sterile processing experience is required
  • Three (3) or more years of leadership/management experience is required
  • Expert knowledge of sterile processing standards, instrumentation, and equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze data and drive process improvement
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate high-performing teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to model servant leadership and PRIIDE values
  • Proficient with technology and Microsoft Office tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day and 24/7 operations of the Sterile Processing Department
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and industry best practices
  • Oversee all instrument reprocessing, documentation, and tracking processes
  • Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and capital assets
  • Collaborate with OR leadership and providers to support surgical schedules and new service lines
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Sterile Processing Department policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and engage team members; build a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as the Sterile Processing Department subject matter expert and liaison to surgical and organizational leadership
