Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing IS implementations, maintenance of applications, and assist with building / maintaining a reliable and efficient computing environment. In addition to their application responsibilities, they are also responsible for directing associates in the support of information system activities within St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Adopts evidence-based leadership practices to consistently deliver excellent care to patients and department customers; Promotes use of the JTE framework and standard work processes with validation to sustain reliable outcomes. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Bachelor’s degree requirement can be waived if the candidate has four or more years of previous management experience
  • Knowledge of complex computing environments with multiple hardware, software, and database systems. Must possess the ability to align strategic company goals to proper implementation of computing systems.
  • Five years’ experience managing enterprise data systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Operations for IT Applications: Design/implement efficient services, offer revenue enhancements, monitor expenses, benchmark, encourage service excellence and provide effective communications. Examines problems occurring with hospital systems and oversees corrective actions. Reviews issues and develops methodologies to eliminate future occurrences.
  • Associate Management: Manages staff and subcontractors to ensure IT value is provided to the organization. The manager provides overall direction and guidance of resource allocation to ensure service delivery to the clients served. Performs tactical day-to-day management such as project scheduling, work plan tracking, and risk and issue management.
  • Staff Development: Train, develop, and coach, counsel, assign duties and work schedules. Evaluate job performance and review performance appraisal with personnel. Initiate or recommend necessary counseling, disciplinary actions, termination and commendatory actions.
  • Resource Planning: Manages daily responsibilities/projects of the staff within the teams, appropriately delegating duties as they fit within the team structure and knowledge base of the individual. Manages, prioritizes and delegates tasks and projects within the department
  • Business Relationship: Develop, promote and maintain professional relationships to ensure an environment conducive to customer service and high-quality patient care. Makes recommendations in areas related to resource sharing, contractual agreements, and functions as IT liaison across business lines.
  • Budgeting/Planning: Develop and manage departmental budgets, research and prepare proposals. Monitor expenditures to meet budget targets. Encourage the resourceful use of approved funds to execute projects. Identify annual and long-term resources needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
