The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Mass Eye and Ear (MEE) Ambulatory Infection Control & High-Level Disinfection/Sterilization (HLDS) Manager is a key leader within these academic medical centers, advancing a culture of safety through evidence-based infection prevention practices, high-reliability process oversight, and expert-level management of HLDS standards. This individual serves as a strategic partner across clinical and operational teams—bridging performance improvement with regulatory excellence, surveillance science, and frontline education. In addition to primary and specialty outpatient clinics, the ambulatory areas of these facilities include large community health centers, ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs), and multiple Mass General Brigham (MGB) Cancer Institute locations, with the clinical profile of these areas including an ever-growing array of numerous, complex procedures. Reporting to the MGH-MEE Senior Manager of Infection Control , the manager oversees site-specific infection prevention programs, ensures rigorous compliance with HLDS requirements, and helps shape institutional policy, training, and safety initiatives to safeguard patients, staff, and the academic mission.
