About The Position

Reporting to the Director Procurement, the Manager Indirect Procurement US, is responsible for identifying and executing programs and initiatives to reduce the company's Total Cost of Ownership of Indirect goods and services. Globally, the company spends roughly $150 million/year on Indirect goods and services, with approximately half within the North American region. The company's region currently comprises of seven manufacturing sites (Hammond (WI), US; Iowa City (IA), US; Malvern (PA), US; Apeldoorn, NL; Forchheim, DE; Silvassa, IN; Guangzhou, CH) plus its corporate headquarters in Cary (NC), US. The primary focus will be US to interface and coordinate with colleagues in the regional facilities to identify common opportunities and leverage spend where possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in supply chain, engineering, science, business or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years professional working experience, with at least 7 years in Procurement including 5+ years in an Indirect sourcing environment.
  • Expert-level procurement skills across the entire source-to-pay process, including but not limited to supplier identification and qualification, negotiation and contract development, logistics, and supplier complaint resolution.
  • Well-versed in contract terms and conditions with strong ability to draft and edit contract language.
  • Analytical with the ability to model costs and assess commercial proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact throughout all levels of an organization.
  • Fundamental understanding of the relationship between Procurement and other business functions and processes.
  • Penchant for challenging the status quo but with an ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Self-starter with the ability to act independently and deliver results.
  • Data-, process- and systems-driven.
  • Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office®.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety for both one and coworkers.

  • SAP S4 experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular contract review meetings with suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure supplier performance is meeting expectations, contractual commitments, and service levels and that any concerns are communicated in a timely manner ensuring the avoidance of service disruption and stakeholder dissatisfaction.
  • Provide advice on all procurement related issues and discuss detailed contractual issues on a wide and varied portfolio with stakeholders to ensure that (i) contractual terms and obligations are fully understood, (ii) both financial, operational, and supply risks are minimized, and (iii) stakeholders fully understand and remain in compliance with finance, legal and procurement procedures.
  • Operate with significant autonomy.
  • Own and manage the end-to-end process for the Source to Contract elements of the assigned categories within the broader Source to Pay processes of the Procurement function, including compliance and regulatory reporting.
  • Verify the relevance of the sourcing strategy by consulting with leaders, understanding external market trends, monitoring business conditions and priorities, being attentive to business objectives and continually validating, evolving, and adjusting the suitability of the functions' strategic objectives to ensure alignment.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze key procurement metrics and spend analytics.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical procurement practices.
  • Establish a robust supplier evaluation framework to assess the performance and capabilities of existing suppliers regularly.
  • Deliver savings and value targets across multiple dimensions including material deflation, P&L, Budget Optimization, Cost Avoidance and Working Capital as well as supplier development and performance, including quality and lead time reliability.
  • Analyze and benchmark the company's Indirect spend by category, subcategory and site and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Keep fully abreast of applicable market conditions and industry trends.
  • Develop and cultivate important supplier relationships.
  • Work cross-functionally and in conjunction with business stakeholders to develop and execute sourcing strategies for key Indirect categories, which deliver against business objectives, including but not limited to cost and working capital commitments.
  • Increase the Indirect spend under management.
  • Negotiate and formalize new supply agreements.
  • Address and resolve quality issues and supplier disputes in a manner that is fair but protects the company's interests.
  • Network with company leaders and stakeholders to build a robust pipeline of sourcing productivity initiatives and work cross-functionally to execute those opportunities consistent with project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain solid working relationships with indirect procurement managers globally as well as US site buyers.
