About The Position

Position Summary: The Manager, Imaging Quality and Regulatory is responsible for the operational leadership, administrative oversight, and day-to-day management of all quality assurance, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance functions for UCI Health. The incumbent is accountable for all aspects of performance within the assigned program, ensuring the implementation of quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives through effective identification of data sources, medical chart review, and query of various databases and information systems in alignment with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. This role maintains accountability for the development and implementation of processes, standards, and regulatory compliance programs to ensure ongoing adherence to all applicable federal and state requirements and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology, and applicable state and federal regulations, and drives continuous improvement in quality of care and patient safety across all assigned imaging modalities. The Manager provides direct oversight and is responsible for the selection, onboarding, competency validation, performance evaluation, and professional development of all assigned coworkers. This position collaborates with radiologists, imaging leadership, clinical operations, compliance, and administrative leadership to advance quality improvement initiatives, regulatory readiness, and accreditation compliance. The Manager works under limited oversight and exercises independent judgment in determining departmental goals and measures to achieve operational, quality, and regulatory objectives within the assigned imaging quality and regulatory program.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of statistics
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite applications with emphasis on Excel and Viseo
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively comprehend complex system reports and analyze an array into an actionable form
  • Resourcefulness to identify and search for information that is not readily available
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate meticulous attention to accuracy with data collection and reporting
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a RN
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in quality and/or patient safety
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience of progressive leadership responsibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with physicians, managers and high-level administrative staff as well as support staff who are critical to departmental functions
  • Current California RN license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy, Business, Administration or related field
  • Ability to prioritize and contribute to simultaneous projects and facilitate teamwork among project staff / participants
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in operational transactions and communications
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience or exposure to quality, patient safety, infection control, or performance improvement methodologies (includes educational experience if applicable)
  • Previous experience creating, maintaining, and extracting information from a variety of databases
  • Previous Supervisory/Management experience
  • Masters preferred, MBA, MHA
