Position Summary: .Job Summary: The Manager II, Sales - Retail Mid Market oversees a team of direct reports in the Sales organization and collaborates with teams and leadership across the company. This team works to secure direct revenue through upselling existing customers, acquiring net new customers and/or converting existing lead generating partners to customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of equivalent education and relevant experience
  • 5+ years sales experience preferred; quota-carrying sales experience a plus
  • 2+ years of formal management experience strongly preferred; 2+ years minimum informal leadership experience required with a proven history of coaching, mentoring, and leading others
  • Proven success developing individual contributors and demonstrated experience working through others to complete work and resolve issues

Responsibilities

  • Accomplish leadership objectives with direct reports by a variety of means: select, educate, coach, develop, and manage performance; communicate job expectations, team vision and purpose; cultivate team culture; assess job contributions; adhere to policies and procedures
  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships within the SPS Commerce ecosystem of partners
  • Partner closely with SPS Sales Leaders to ensure inbound leads are moved through the sales process
  • Work closely with immediate leadership to drive and deliver expectations of the business; leverage analytics and trends when presenting a business case for change
  • Identify individual and team coaching opportunities to elevate team members performance and behaviors; identify cross-functional processes improvements from idea to implementation
  • Assist the team in addressing and overcoming barriers, including customer consultation and issue elevation
  • Partner with Sales Training and leverage training resources to ensure proper training for team members on SPS Commerce products, services, and sales techniques
  • Identify key selling trends and communicate to senior management
  • Manage pipelines of sales representatives through individual and team pipeline reviews and aggregate pipeline for forecasting purposes
  • Resolve tactical issues with SPS Finance and Operations as they arise
  • Ensure team documents key findings, progress, insights, and pipeline velocity in Salesforce.com
