About The Position

THE ROLE: A hands-on leader who drives the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications and systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership—architecting, designing, and developing scalable backend services, secure APIs, modern front-end applications, and containerized cloud infrastructure. As a working manager, this individual leads by example, guiding teams to deliver robust, secure, and data-driven solutions while ensuring projects stay on track, systems perform reliably, and technology decisions align with business goals. HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE: Serve as a working manager, actively contributing to architectural designs, coding, and delivery while leading and mentoring the team. Plan, prioritize, and track work to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, scalable systems. Collaborate with stakeholders, creating decks and presentations to communicate strategy, progress, and results. Drive data-informed decision-making through analytics tracking, A/B testing, and user behavior analysis. Build and maintain resilient, scalable, and secure systems, implementing monitoring, alerts, and performance optimizations. Administer platforms, monitor budgets, and manage technical operations to ensure cost-efficient, reliable performance. Foster team culture by coaching, developing, and training others, promoting innovation and accountability. Evaluate and propose new technologies including AI integrations to improve scalability, automation, and user experience. Oversee code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises engineering team members; responsible for performance management, career development, and fostering a collaborative culture.

Requirements

• Hands-on expertise in Python, PostgreSQL, and modern backend development (Node.js, Java, or equivalent).
• Proven ability to architect, design, and deliver scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong skills in analytics tracking, A/B testing, and data-driven decision making.
• Experience evaluating and implementing new and emerging technologies, including AI.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
• Experience with platform administration, monitoring, and budget management.
• 7+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a lead or managerial capacity.
• Proven record of delivering production-grade, scalable systems and managing engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical execution with strategic leadership.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
