About The Position

Engineering Managers in the Alerting Platform are responsible for the core systems that define and schedule monitors, create alerts, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the end to end alerting data across the platform. This engineering manager will lead the team that owns the product experience of defining and managing monitors and the critical first step on customers' journey of responding to issues - a "full stack" team, from the UI to the public API. Requirements

  • Built and led teams of 4+ engineers
  • Have owned high-scale customer-facing services that are measured on uptime, performance, and correctness
  • Experience with being on-call, leading incident responses, writing post mortems, and driving remediation efforts
  • You have a BS/MS/PhD in a Computer Science, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent professional experience

Responsibilities

  • Define and prioritize goals in long term roadmaps with engineering and product leadership
  • Work with team members to drive technical direction in architecture decision making and ensuring good review processes
  • Manage and grow team of varying experience levels, intern to senior engineers, with a focus on impact and career development
  • Partner extensively across engineering and product teams to understand needs and collaborate on solutions
  • Lead by example in handling incidents and on-call responsibilities, ensure reliability is a priority.
