About The Position

Serenity Knolls is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join their team. Serenity Knolls is a highly respected residential program in Northern California, offering extended residential treatment and a free aftercare program for lasting sobriety. The facility has a capacity of 42 beds, including 6 for detox, serving individuals aged 18 and older. It operates as a 12-step based, social model residential treatment center, integrating traditional care with contemporary cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and evidence-based practices. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for all phases of human resources within the facility, including recruiting and selection, onboarding, new hire orientation, payroll processing, compensation, employee relations, and worker’s compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or related field required.
  • One to three years’ previous experience in a Human Resources leadership role with demonstrable knowledge of principles and procedures for recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation and human resources information systems required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in Human Resources preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day HR functions for the facility.
  • Interpret HR policies for staff and respond to staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Translate complex information and provide highly specialized advice in a specific Human Resources discipline.
  • Serve as known expert in subject matter with a broad knowledge and understanding of HR functional areas.
  • Manage and implement corporate and local Human Resources programs to fulfill state and federal policies and regulations.
  • Identify data needed for reports and ensure reports accurately capture and present information appropriate to the audience.
  • Communicate information to all levels of the facility, including leadership, staff and other community members.
  • Responsible for leading, motivating and assessing diverse teams, including experienced and junior professionals.
  • May lead projects that impact the facility at the request of leadership or corporate Human Resources.
  • Responsible for compensation, employee relations and worker’s compensation.
  • Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
