About The Position

In this role, you will partner with local media leaders to provide practical HR guidance and ensure compliance with employment laws. You will serve as a trusted advisor on employee and labor relations, performance management, and organizational effectiveness. You will collaborate with HR colleagues and business leaders to help maintain a positive work environment, ensure compliance with employment laws, and deliver on HR initiatives that support business needs. You are an experienced and proactive HR professional with a solid generalist background and the ability to balance employee advocacy with business priorities. You thrive in fast-paced environments, are detail oriented, and provide practical, business-focused HR solutions to both managers and employees. You excel at building strong relationships, offering pragmatic guidance, and ensuring alignment with company values and compliance standards. You bring a deep understanding of New Jersey, New York and other Northeast Coast employment laws and apply it to foster positive, productive workplace relationships.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of HR experience in a generalist or HRBP role.
  • Strong knowledge of NY/NJ and other east coast states employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Spanish/English fluency required (oral and written).
  • Experience with unionized environments preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior media or entertainment industry experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Florida employment laws a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers to address employee relations issues, provide coaching, and ensure fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Provide coaching to leaders on performance management, attendance, career development, and compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal employment laws.
  • Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Excellence, and Labor Relations to ensure consistent and compliant practices.
  • Help foster a positive workplace culture by building strong relationships with employees and encouraging open communication.
  • Use HR data and analytics to support decision-making and identify workforce trends.
  • Travel to other East Coast stations as needed.
