About The Position

Hilltop Holdings is seeking an Onboarding Manager to support the onboarding experience of new hires at Hilltop Holdings and its 3 subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in managing the onboarding of new hires, while maintaining compliance with applicable state and federal laws. This role is responsible for managing a team of three individual contributors performing a variety of tasks from reviewing background checks, processing I-9s and ensuring that new hires have what they need for their first day. The Onboarding Manager and team will partner with the Talent Acquisition team to provide additional support during high volume recruiting seasons.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years HR related experience
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience required
  • Working knowledge of Applicant tracking systems (Oracle experience a plus)
  • E-Verify experience (B.I.G. or Vertical Screen) experience a plus
  • Experience managing compliance of new hire forms as required by states
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to handle delicate situations with diplomacy and tact
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical skills and strong detail orientation
  • Demonstrated judgment and decision making ability
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Displays excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead a shared service team of onboarding professionals with strong focus on service delivery to internal customers and external candidates
  • Manage and administer the candidate pre-screening and background investigation lifecycle and I-9 compliance for all candidates
  • Own the offer letter process, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and optimized for candidate experience
  • Identify, propose and implement process improvements/enhancements in coordination with internal matrixed departments and functions
  • Ensure processes for maintaining employee information is kept secure and retained for the required amount of time
  • Report and manage the onboarding pipeline for the organization
  • Partner with other internal departments to ensure all new hires have a seamless onboarding experience, especially when it relates to new hires in sales positions
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and support for Human Resources programs
  • Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals
  • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures
  • Review performance data to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness
  • Maintain communication with internal and external contacts (including senior leadership levels) as necessary to ensure expectations and timelines are met
