Irving group of companies Relocation costs (if applicable) Responsibilities The Safety Manager is responsible for the site safety of the Macon Irving Tissue facility. This position reports to the Plant Manager and functions as a member of the site Leadership Team. Primary responsibilities will include managing the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Team and initiatives and actively encouraging the implementation of HSE best practices to reach our goal of zero lost time accidents. This is a hands-on position and requires regular participation and support for HSE activities in the site including being out in the manufacturing areas on a regular basis to support HSE initiatives and the HSE Advisors. Lead and Manage Site Safety, Health and Environmental Program Provide ongoing support as required to management in the effective execution of HSE programs and initiatives. Review and update as required, existing policies, programs, and procedures in consultation with key stakeholders and the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Lead the Plant’s Key Elements of Safety Program. Implement 3-year safety plan and manage site initiatives. Coaching & development of safety leaders Train and evaluate safety team and second-hat safety leaders. Incident and Investigations Manage all incidents to ensure proper investigation and root causes are arrived at with proper corrective actions implemented. Perform incident/injury analysis. Responsible for the accuracy of the Incident Data Base and the generation of required reports and balanced scorecards. Manage the HSE inspection and audit process programs Review, monitor and evaluate Contractor Safety Programs and provide ongoing HSE support. Compliance Ensure the facility is compliant with all state and federal regulations and requirements. Site liaison with OSHA as required
