As Health and Safety (HS) Manager, you will lead and strategically guide HS activities across our High Purity Quartz (HPQ) operations. Drive a proactive HS culture, coach and empower Operational Leaders and Teams, and drive strategic initiatives that ensure safe, healthy, and resilient workplaces, especially in complex industrial environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering and occupational health & safety, industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in Health & Safety leadership roles, preferably in an industrial or mining operational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HS legislation, risk management and operational excellence preferrably with experience working in larger organizations
  • Proven ability to drive transformational change cross functions teams with ability to engage with all levels of employees
  • Proven track record of driving HS strategy, coaching teams, and managing complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to empower people as well as implement & guide change/projects
  • Sound communicator with abiltity to create buy-in from all levels within the company
  • Proactive with the ability to work independantly as well as part of a large team
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to travel regularly to ensure presence in each of the sites

Nice To Haves

  • MSHA certification preferred
  • Experience working with OHSEA is appreciated

Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of the Sibelco Global HS Program, aligning Global Standard with local realities
  • Partner with Senior Leadership to embed HS strategy into business operations
  • Influence, coach and mentor Operational Side Leadership and management to elevate safety ownership and accountability
  • Lead risk management, incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Navigate ambiguity, translating complex regulations into practical solutions
  • Drive performance through data, insights and a culture of continuous learning and safety ownership
