GrubhubChicago, IL

About The Position

The Growth Analytics Manager is a strategic analytics partner on Grubhub’s Growth team, with broad impact across growth initiatives. You’ll spend most of your time doing what matters most: digging into data, uncovering insights, and telling stories that shape decisions. The real value that you’ll add is turning data into narratives and recommendations - finding the “so what” and communicating it in ways that influence strategy and drive action. You’ll also own and evolve critical components of our reporting ecosystem - approaching dashboards and recurring outputs as data products, thoughtfully designed for clarity, usability, and decision impact. You’ll build scalable frameworks and reporting outputs that keep stakeholders aligned and enable faster, better decisions. You’ll work closely with the Growth Analytics team and teammates across the broader Growth organization - from peers to leadership - as well as cross-functional partners in Finance, Data Engineering, and Product. You’ll identify opportunities, structure ambiguous problems, design analyses, support experiments, and help the team learn faster and improve growth programs. This role requires intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, and strong business judgment. You should be comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with both business and technical stakeholders. This role has real impact and visibility, with opportunities to grow into positions with broader strategic scope and executive engagement.

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years in an analytics role where you’ve demonstrably influenced meaningful business decisions and shaped strategic direction through data
  • Proven ability to independently structure complex business questions, conduct sophisticated analysis, and translate complexity into clear, compelling, executive-ready narratives that drive action
  • High intellectual curiosity and genuine enthusiasm for understanding what drives performance, why metrics move, and how analytical approaches can improve decision-making
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills - you influence without authority, align stakeholders around priorities, and drive work to completion through clarity and accountability
  • Deep SQL proficiency - you can independently extract, structure, and analyze complex data to answer ambiguous, high-impact business questions
  • Strong expertise with Tableau (required), including building intuitive dashboards and treating reporting as a data product - thoughtfully designed for clarity, usability, and adoption
  • Experience owning and improving reporting processes and infrastructure, including creating structured, analysis-ready views that make insights faster, more reliable, and easier to generate
  • A strong automation mindset - you proactively streamline recurring analyses, reduce manual reporting, and improve the efficiency and durability of analytical workflows
  • Comfort leveraging AI tools (LLMs, MCPs, and emerging technologies) to accelerate insight generation and enhance productivity
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who identifies opportunities, sets direction, and drives work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in subscription, marketplace, or two-sided / multi-sided platform businesses
  • Experience analyzing customer behavior, retention, and growth performance drivers
  • Familiarity with experiment design, test analysis, and causal measurement approaches
  • Experience with Looker or other modern BI tools
  • Familiarity with semantic layers or structured reporting frameworks that promote metric consistency and scalable decision-making
  • Python or other programming skills for advanced analysis and automation
  • Consulting experience that exposed you to different business models and problem-solving approaches

Responsibilities

  • Drive insight generation and strategic storytelling - dive deep into data to uncover growth opportunities, diagnose performance drivers, and translate complex analysis into executive-ready narratives that inform investment and prioritization decisions
  • Own and evolve critical pieces of our reporting infrastructure and cadences - maintain and elevate dashboards, develop leadership-facing narratives, build self-service tools, and automate recurring workflows
  • Develop structured analytical approaches that bring consistency and rigor to how we evaluate performance and make growth decisions
  • Partner with teams across Growth, Finance, Data Engineering, and Product to align on priorities, solve problems, and deliver results
  • Support experimentation practices by contributing to test design, analyzing results, and accelerating learning from growth initiatives
  • Track performance against goals and size opportunities to inform prioritization
  • Help strengthen the team’s analytical capabilities by championing best practices and bringing new ideas
  • Leverage AI tools (LLMs, MCPs, and other emerging technologies) in your analytical workflows to work more efficiently and uncover deeper insights
