About The Position

The Manager of the Greater Vision Outreach Center in Kinston will oversee the day-to-day operations of the GV Outreach Center, located on the Kennedy Home campus. Duties of this position will include but will not be limited to accepting and recording donations, supervising staff and volunteers, implementing and maintaining direct service programs to clients, stocking and rotating food and supplies, maintaining warehouse safety, coordinating bulk food donations and distribution to BCH service areas and non-profit partners. The Manager will work to build and maintain relationships with staff, volunteers, community non-profits, churches, and partner organizations to promote community engagement and fulfill the purpose of the ministry.

Requirements

  • Meet general employment qualifications as outlined in the agency’s personnel policies.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of three years of relative work experience in a human service field.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in warehouse management.
  • Experience in recruiting, organizing, and leading volunteers.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computer and software applications to organize and analyze information, and maintain a database of information gathered.
  • Have the ability to relate to people and to function as a member of the ministry team.
  • Proven experience with effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
  • Possess strong team-building and leadership development skills.
  • Effectively handle and lift various objects weighing up to 60 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be organized and able to manage and complete multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Have the knowledge and skills to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a record of safe driving.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure objectives are met within set timelines and manage plans accordingly
  • Develop and assist others in developing client action plans and ongoing strategies for clients
  • Manage software to track all aspects of the GV Outreach Center including clients, inventory, and outcomes
  • Track Outreach and Evangelism monthly
  • Attend relevant community meetings; participate in relevant councils, roundtables, and committees
  • Submit weekly progress report to the Director, Greater Vision Outreach Ministry
  • Complete the quarterly Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) documents and participate in the PQI program as needed
  • Participate in COA re-accreditation, as requested by the COA team
  • Coordinate the use of resources between Greater Vision and Kennedy Home by working with the Manager of Kennedy Home
  • Share benefits of using the Charity Tracker software with other community service agencies, building the Kinston Area Charity Tracker Network by adding partner agencies
  • Facilitate training events for the Charity Tracker software
  • Participate in community resource events to share the services GV provides to the community
  • Will work under the direct supervision of the Director, Tucker Greater Vision Outreach Ministry
  • Participates in 90-day and annual performance evaluations
  • Cooperates with supervisor in establishing performance goals and objectives
  • Communicates with and keeps supervisor informed and requests conferences as needed
  • Participates in staff training as requested by the supervisor

  • Work in a cooperative relationship with volunteers and the community by representing the institution in a professional, objective, and positive manner
  • Recruit and provide direct training and coaching to staff and volunteers of the GV Outreach Center - Kinston in all relevant areas of the ministry
  • Provide direct supervision to Greater Vision team members, including the Services Manager and Receptionist roles
  • Ensure the center is staffed to support the various areas of operations
  • Conduct and/or arrange for staff/volunteer orientation and training
  • Organize and facilitate service projects for volunteer groups
  • Schedule all tours of the GV Outreach Center
  • Organize and participate in staff/volunteer recognition programs and special events
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation
  • Maintain employee files including new hire paperwork, training records, confidentiality statements, etc.
  • Ensure that food donations are properly sorted, stored, rotated and documented
  • Maintain safety protocols at all times
  • Ensure the Center is clean and organized
  • Maintain equipment, ensuring regular maintenance or repairs are completed
  • Order supplies for the Center as needed
  • Coordinate deliveries and pick-ups of donations
  • Maintain a first-in, first-out system of inventory control and storage
  • Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and truck
  • Oversee client interactions with staff and volunteers
  • Oversee interactions with partner agencies; building and maintaining positive relationships in the community
