About The Position

Manager, Finance Operations plays a key role in developing and supporting strategies to effectively run the onboard Finance Operations. Play a critical role in the information feedback loop between shore side and shipboard Finance Operations. Act as the main point of contact for addressing any inquiries and questions related to financial operations/reporting. Together with Sr. Manager, Fleet Finance Operations responsible to drive the Fleet Finance Team toward the organizational vision by to developing strategies to enable the onboard team to efficiently execute operational tasks. Monitors and highlights key performance indicators and risk parameters pertaining to fleet finance operations. The role will also support strategic and tactical initiatives, working alongside the Financial Analytics team, Finance Planning team, Shipboard Finance Operations team, and the Financial Technology team, to develop key strategies and help interpret, analyze and review of process, procedures, systems for major projects and new initiatives. Essential Functions: Plans, allocates and manage staff resources that outline and support department procedures and set standards for onboard finance operations. Oversee training and development of direct reports and provides feedback during probation period by submitting required department evaluation form. Consistently develops staff by preparing employees’ performance evaluations for direct reports and reviewing all employees’ performance evaluations. Planning, organizing, leading and monitoring team members through multiple finance projects. Oversee all fleet finance and cash management projects for Finance, shipboard and shoreside, treasury and other teams as directed by CCL Finance as well as New Builds support (b) Liaison with FinTech and IT to monitor the appropriate implementation of releases impacting applications supporting inventory management, cost accounting, payroll, revenue activity impacting onboard finance team. Analyses and develop independently and collaboratively, high-impact business reporting, presentations, business intelligence solutions, training materials collaborating with finance business partners, Financial Planning team, Finance Technology team, Shipboard Finance Operations team and any other stakeholder in connection with the fleet finance operations. Serve as an internal consultant providing business insights to business units and stakeholders of the fleet finance team across the organization. Monitoring, budgeting and forecasting for fleet finance to ensure compliance on behalf of fleet finance executive team. Collaborate with the enterprise to understand the impact to the business and uses big picture view to calibrate priorities across projects. (b) Assist in championing new ideas (c) Understands the company vision and strategy and provides guidance to direct reports in supporting solutions that are aligned with the organization’s goals. Identify best, efficient, and cost beneficial solutions to design effective business processes, controls, while also leveraging technology in support of improving the fleet finance organization. Work closely with FinTech and IT teams provide purpose, goal and expectations on capital size projects critical to the organization and evaluate project results in terms of ROI. Lead the Fleet Finance team to create and monitor dashboards and alerts to evaluate trends across the fleet of CCL ships. Provide proactive feedback to reduce the number of operational incidents and promote accuracy. Prepare and distribute status reporting on operational performance, projects and incident management, organize meetings as necessary. Review, conduct audit of system setups (POS, SPMS, Inventory management systems etc.) and report any findings. Recruit staff for Fleet Finance positions. Manage and supervise Fleet Finance operations and training. Review evaluations of shipboard personal and recommend for promotions and incentives. Actively take part in talent management to ensure top talent is retained.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems degree
  • Finance, Accounting - Data Analytics background or experience
  • Proficient in Accounting and Information System methodologies, tools, best practices, and processes
  • 5+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various methodologies that support that lifecycle in Shipboard Operations and Finance.
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project teams, while holding team accountable for performance.
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives, sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers.
  • Project Management, Oracle Financials, Financial Application Architectures, SQL, Test Script creation and ability to manage from a project plan.
  • Applied Finance Administration, Management analytics, Team Management and Project Implementations.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
