Quartz is adding to our Finance team the position Manager, Finance Accounting. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly close process, preparation of financial statements, and coordination of external audits. This role will also lead a team of accountants, maintains compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and partners with cross-functional teams to support business decisions and process improvements. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, 5+ years of experience in financial functions with a focus in financial reporting.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience mentoring/guiding/overseeing staff.
  • Experience in the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and cost accounting.
  • Knowledge of General Ledger packages such as Oracle, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare industry and/or public accounting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and generate new ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
  • Prepares and reviews financial statements in compliance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Researches and applies GAAP to complex or unusual transactions including monitoring of new accounting standards and adoption efforts.
  • Maintains and enhances internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting quality.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities.
  • Establishes clear performance expectations, monitor workload distribution, and ensure accountability across the team.
