About The Position

The Finance Manager – Hopewell Site & External Manufacturing is a key business partner to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and External Manufacturing, providing financial analysis and insight to support operational execution and decision‑making. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of manufacturing financials while enhancing visibility into cost, inventory, and financial performance across the Hopewell site and a portion of the external manufacturing (CMO) network. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager performs core accounting close activities, cost and inventory analysis, and FP&A processes for the manufacturing footprint. The role plays a critical part in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting, translating complex operational data into clear financial insights for senior stakeholders. This is a hybrid (office/remote) work location position based in our Hopewell, NJ office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in accounting or finance required
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related fieldwith 5+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, preferably within the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry, with experience in supporting operational units and manufacturing finance.
  • Proven experience in a corporate FP&A role, ideally within a large, complex organization.
  • Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and champion best practices.
  • Excellent computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using SAP and EPM tools (e.g., TM1, Hyperion, Adaptive, etc)

  • MBA or CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs monthly close activities for the Hopewell manufacturing site and a portion of the external manufacturing network, including: Preparation of journal entries, accruals and supporting analyses
  • Prepare account reconciliations and data checks
  • Tracking and analysis of manufacturing variances
  • Review of production, labor, and overhead costs
  • Prepare inventory reconciliations and reserve analysis
  • Work with Accounting to support audits, internal controls, and documentation requests
  • Provide financial support for the annual budget, forecast, and long‑range planning processes for the Hopewell site and a portion of the external manufacturing network.
  • Coordinate inputs from Operations, Supply Chain, and External Manufacturing partners
  • Maintain and enhance forecast models and planning templates
  • Analyze actuals versus budget/forecast and clearly articulate key drivers and risks
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages and dashboards, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Monitor and report on key manufacturing KPIs, including unit cost, variances, inventory balances, and capacity utilization
  • Develop a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and external manufacturing agreements to proactively identify financial risks and improvement opportunities
  • Maintain data accuracy in ERP systems, planning tools, and reporting files
  • Follow established finance processes and documentation standards
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying data gaps or reporting inefficiencies
