Amex Technology has changed dramatically over the last few years, and as Technology continues to evolve its business strategies and operating model, the Finance organization needs to evolve with it. The Tech Finance Strategy & Transformation team enables the achievement of technology’s key business strategies by driving financial visibility and accountability, built on strong relationships across key stakeholders and grounded in data and analysis. How will you make an impact in this role? This Finance Manager will work closely with the Tech S&T Finance Director, Product, Portfolio, and Finance leadership teams to drive achievement of strategic initiatives that involve both investment and operations products. This role will provide data-driven insights and analytics as well as scope, monitor, and report risk & opportunities to both project and business case financial assumptions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant Finance / Business work experience. Prior people leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Experience working in FP&A and/or a strategic manager role at a fintech or financial services business preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through ambiguity.
  • Solid understanding of P&Ls, financial metrics, cost drivers, and forecast methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience synthesizing large amounts of complex data with the ability to draw key conclusions.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance / Accounting / Data Analytics)
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Suite skillset. Power BI, TM1 (IBM Planning Analytics) and understanding of relational database and SQL coding is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA/MBA is preferred
  • Experience working in FP&A and/or a strategic manager role at a fintech or financial services business preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and maintain proforma financials for key strategic initiatives.
  • Lead project management initiatives for strategies that increase business efficiencies and/or support the implementation of new financial processes.
  • Perform strategic ad-hoc analyses and research to turn data into more insightful information to guide business decisions.
  • Collaborate with other finance and technology teams to ensure strategic objectives are met within budgeted costs.
  • Clear, concise communication of project status and impacts to all levels of management.
