About The Position

Provides direction in the administration, management, and coordination of financial operations for Accounting Services working in close collaboration with the System Director of Finance.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to setting operational direction and providing management oversight for Accounting Services staff, standardization of operations, identification of efficiencies, implementation of performance improvement plans when appropriate, implementation of productivity/labor cost strategies, and administration of operating plans/goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, or equivalent and either an M.B.A or C.P.A required.
  • 7+ years experience in an accounting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements departmental goals through ongoing evaluation and assessment of departmental processes and the needs of internal and external customers in order to achieve desired business objectives.
  • Provides departmental oversight to include but not limited to hiring, training, supervising, counseling, evaluating all employees and maintaining regulatory requirements. Assesses such operations to enhance service delivery, quality and efficiency.
  • Provides departmental financial management, including but not limited to capital and operational budgeting, variance analysis and proforma generation as well as management of resources within financial and workload standards established by Baptist. Implements workload standards and continually reviews operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and enhanced efficiency which will result in more efficient resource utilization.
  • Communicates and interacts with key internal and external customers in order to identify opportunities for improvement and monitors improvement which will result in enhanced customer satisfaction.
  • Prepares the consolidated financial statements and System Board Report for BMHCC including various miscellaneous reports as needed.
  • Coordinates preparation and payment of property tax payments for Metro entities.
  • Prepares system financial statements for external audit firm.
  • Performs other accountabilities as directed or assigned.
