Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence. As a Facilities Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supervising maintenance activities for facilities and infrastructures in a hardware manufacturing plant or site. Additional Information: This role is located in Morton IL and does not offer relocation. This role is 1st shift, Monday – Friday. This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules This role requires up to 5% domestic travel

Requirements

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
  • Prior experience working in and/or for a union
  • Prior experience with repair work and/or preventative maintenance in an electrical or mechanical environment

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, partners and suppliers to meet business goals in accordance with the sustainable use of facilities and budget demands.
  • Construct an efficient facility maintenance team and guides training sessions to ensure quality performance.
  • Evaluate the operation's effectiveness with current utilities and equipment; provides appropriate solutions to challenges and risks.
  • Oversee inspections, repairs and updates of facilities and relevant operational activities; maintains order at the facility.
