About The Position

This position is for UF Health Flagler Hospital Reports to the Director of Facilities. Responsible for the management of day-to-day operations for the Facilities Department to include Plant Services and Asbestos Program Management. Ensures adherence to all Federal, State and Local regulatory rules pertaining to the physical plant and facilities functions. Provides coordination for renovation and construction projects as assigned by the Facilities Director. Provides coordination for asbestos operations and maintenance functions to include training on asbestos to employees and contractors. Acts as the initial decision maker on all asbestos related matters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Seven years experience in management of a large facility, which includes maintenance and installation of equipment, utilities and buildings.
  • Must have background in Facilities Management relating to all professional trades.
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership skills through personnel management, to include goal setting, effective delegation, demonstration of strong interpersonal skills, and budget management.
  • Must possess a positive attitude.
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of success in implementing, administering, and tracking regulatory compliance programs.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of trouble shooting techniques and be able to develop and work with project schedules such as GANTT charts.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with emergency systems to include but not limited to electrical, mechanical, water, steam and HVAC.
  • Must have Hazardous Waste training and Asbestos Management experience (HAZWOPPER preferred).
  • Must have renovation and construction experience working in a healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Assures compliance with all City, State and Federal regulations and standards pertaining to daily operations of Facilities to include Infection Control practices and Interim Life Safety Measures.
  • Manages all aspects of routine maintenance at a hospital including management of the physical plant, electrical distribution systems, medical gas delivery systems, emergency generators, and physical plant troubleshooting and project management.
  • Manages engineering staff and others as required for daily operations. Manages Asbestos Program for operations, maintenance and renovations, to include Respiratory Fit Training and Operation and Maintenance Procedure Training. Maintains an In-House Inspection program along with documentation and record keeping as it relates to Asbestos.
  • Tracks Job Request forms and facilitates work procedures for the staff and contractors as it relates to Asbestos and administration of supplies and materials inventory as related to Asbestos.
  • Assists in the recruitment, development, training, education, and retention of staff in support of the organizations goals and facilities long range plan.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the departments operating budget.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management within job scope.
