Working in-office and working on the Store Operations Team, the Manager, Events will act as the driving force behind our events program. Partnering closely with executive leadership to shape the vision, this role owns the strategy, design, and execution of events, translating big-picture goals into engaging, impactful experiences. The Program Manager brings inspiration, creativity, and innovation to the role, continuously evolving the program to deliver memorable moments that strengthen our community, elevate the brand, and set new standards of excellence. This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in events
  • 2+ years’ supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional networking skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work under high pressure and handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Possess proficient analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; such as time pressure or ambiguity
  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English
  • Proficient ability to work collaboratively with others; conduct working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe CC Suite including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Demonstrated ability to model customer-focused behaviors leading to outstanding customer experiences
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Partners, build relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business priorities and improve the execution of all initiatives that enrich our culture.
  • Event Strategy & Planning Develop and oversee the company’s event strategy, aligning with brand, sales, and community engagement goals. Design scalable event frameworks that can be adapted for store-level, regional, and national initiatives. Build a calendar of events that balances casual play, learn-to-play, competitive tournaments, and promotional launches.
  • Program Development & Execution Create standardized event programs, kits, and play structures to ensure consistent guest experience across all stores. Partners with vendors, publishers, and licensors to design and execute co-branded or exclusive events. Establish best practices and playbooks for in-store associates to run events smoothly.
  • Operational Excellence Coordinate logistics for event materials, marketing collateral, prizing, and inventory needs. Manage event registration systems, store scheduling tools, and reporting processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and licensing agreements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with marketing to promote events through digital, social, and in-store channels. Work with Store Operations and field leadership to drive execution and participation. Collaborate with merchandising and supply chain to ensure product tie-ins and availability for key events.
  • Associate Enablement & Training Ensure training, guides, and resources are available for store associates to host successful events. Develop tools that simplify execution and empower associates to engage players with confidence. Serve as the subject matter expert and point of escalation for event-related questions.
  • Customer & Community Engagement Create events that foster community, inclusiveness, and repeat participation. Gather feedback from players, store teams, and partners to continuously improve the event experience. Monitor trends in gaming, hobby, and fan communities to evolve the event portfolio.
  • Performance Measurement & Reporting Define success metrics for participation, sales lift, and customer satisfaction. Track, analyze, and report on event performance across the organization. Provide insights and recommendations to refine strategy and maximize ROI.
  • Leadership & Program Management Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver programs on schedule. Lead cross-departmental initiatives and ensure alignment across stakeholders. Drive innovation, testing, and iteration to keep events fresh and competitive.
