About The Position

Facilities Project Management is seeking a candidate to responsible for overseeing and developing Capital construction estimates and schedules for all in house Capital Construction projects in the Division of Facilities. This includes but not limited to the following: Analyze project documents, drawings and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project and draw up estimates for in house labor, 3rd party support and materials to determine the overall cost of constructions projects. Negotiate with C&D estimators to dispute and justify labor rate, productivity and material costs. Audit and review ongoing construction to determine earned value of actual work versus completed work and issue findings to validate or dispute project budgets. Provide data for tracking production and accomplished construction tasks derived from negotiated estimates. Develop and compile tracking of construction activities. Prepare and negotiate Additional Work Orders (AWOs) or change orders for budget that will affect schedule and budget. Develop and maintain a database of actual costs that can be used for estimating future projects. Collect and analyze information about materials, labor, and time requirements Collaborate with engineers, architects and contractors as well as finance and project managers Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of full-time related experience and two (2) years of Managerial, Supervisory or Administrative experience.
  • A satisfactory combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in project estimating and understand construction processes and methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and navigate specifications
  • Knowledge or experienced with RS Means
  • Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and Word
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in estimating
