About The Position

This position is working manager with responsibility for the daily operations of Environmental Services. Assesses departmental activities and requirements by making rounds to perform visual inspections within the hospital to ensure that the cleanliness is maintained Distributes work assignments by prioritizing work Plans, organizes and directs the daily operational activities of employee group supervised Directs staff according to hospital and departmental policies during fire and disaster alerts Assists with initial, annual and ongoing training/competencies Oversees pick up and monitoring of hazardous, pharmaceutical and biohazardous waste, removal, storage and manifests Flows through with appropriate action after investigating concerns / complaints Other functions include: Investigating and documenting concerns and/or inappropriate actions inter-and intradepartmentally Counsels, evaluates and disciplines employee group supervised Preparation of personnel, capital and expense budget for the department Interprets hospital and departmental policies and procedures for employees Participates and assists in fire and disaster drills Develops area assignments and reviews annually Reviews department policies/procedures and submits recommendations for revisions Oversee pest control services and linen distribution

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Minimum of five years' relevant experience management level in Environmental Services will be considered in lieu of a degree.
