Your Opportunity, Your Team You will be directly responsible for site specific Fulfillment Center Environmental, Health and Safety. Interprets, implements and drives EHS policies, programs, guidelines, and training with direction from the Sr. EHS Manager and Corporate EHS team assisting in customization of policies and procedures and providing recommended changes as necessary. Where You'll Work This role is onsite and will require you to work from our Suffolk, VA daily. Relocation assistance not available for this role.

Requirements

  • Minimum B.S. in occupational safety, environmental & health or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in EHS program management with emphasis on program development, reducing injuries and fostering safety culture.
  • Basic experience with LEAN principles, process improvement and change management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good facilitation skills, ability to collaborate with company personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Drives team member safety engagement expectations for the site with a focus on safety improvement.
  • Leads site efforts to support the EHS Vision focused on world class workplace safety
  • Partners with the site General Manager (GM) to hold site leadership accountable for workplace safety including but not limited to incident reporting, safety KPI, and adhering to general safety expectations communicated through training, auditing or other equivalent methods.
  • Develops safety progress metrics for trending and identifying areas of opportunities.
  • Work with the site GM and /or site Sr. Leadership team to ensure the site maintains a safety improvement path.
  • Collaborates with site Sr. Leadership to develop safety recognition programs with a focus on team member engagement.
  • Partners/consults with the site Sr. Leadership safety committee.
  • Spends time in the Fulfillment Center to development relationships with team members and identify gaps and safety program improvement opportunities.
  • Manages the site EHS Specialist. Provide guidance, training, and motivation to develop necessary competencies. Evaluate performance, set goals, and ensure team member meets position expectations.
  • Participates in Situational Incident Review Team(SIRT) meetings and assist site Leadership with site specific SIRT incident preparation and delivery.
  • Partners with Project Managers and CREWS to ensure regulatory compliance and safety design is incorporated into equipment, process and building projects.
  • Ensures workplace safety and health practices are incorporated with all construction, installation and remediation site projects.
  • Manages the site Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics programs.
  • Liaison for all site regulatory agency inquiries (OSHA, EPA, DOT or state equivalent). Respond to regulatory inspections, working directly with agency personnel. Partner with Sr. EHS manager and company Legal to develop responses to investigations, agency requests and proposed citations.
  • Manages the site regulated waste program for compliance purposes.
  • Responsible for managing the site regulatory compliance and company best management practice (BMP) EHS program. Incorporate internal and external peer and legal review in any document development process and present final drafts to EHS management for approval.
  • Provides regular updates to Senior EHS Manager regarding site safety performance and integration of the company EHS program.
  • Supports plans and ongoing projects associated with our sustainability program, including event planning, committee facilitation and activity tracking.
  • Partners with the Workers Compensation team regarding return to work accommodations for the Fulfillment site.
  • Submits applicable compliance reports and compliance fees for the site within required time expectations (examples may include annual AST registrations, waste generator or radiation program fees, Federal biennial waste reports).
  • Partners with peers to share site specific best practices and potentially develop network or company environmental, health, safety programs, policies and training.
