About The Position

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, is seeking an exceptional and talented Manager, Engineering Technical Support. This position offers flexibility, allowing it to be based out of Portland, OR, Greenville, NC, or EMEA locations. The core responsibilities of this role involve overseeing global product structure management, which includes defining, assigning, and maintaining truck configuration attributes, and coordinating the release of product structures across multiple platforms and model years. The manager will also lead the release and maintenance of various product codes, unit codes, distribution records, and master lists for both internal and external manufacturing partners, ensuring timely launches that align with production schedules. A key aspect of the role is coordinating and managing global engineering change processes, such as ECN batch releases and VASP technician workloads, to effectively support technical publications and aftermarket operations. Furthermore, the position requires providing global support for resolving product structure and system issues, managing engineering libraries, and maintaining sales/product information databases to ensure accurate truck, battery, and component data. Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree.
  • 7+ years in a Product Development environment.
  • Exceptional communicator with strong verbal and written skills, able to present complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Effective leader and team collaborator who inspires, organizes, and motivates both local and global teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Resourceful problem solver with a keen ability to analyze issues, think conceptually, and drive solutions in a dynamic environment.

  • Extensive understanding of industrial lift truck products, including knowledge of models developed at multiple locations and manufacturing plants.
  • Proficiency with databases and business software, including document management systems and workflow tools.
  • Experienced in using graphic design and engineering software such as Adobe Illustrator and 3D CAD programs (e.g., Siemens NX or similar).
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative platforms.
  • Strong business operations skills, including verbal and written communication, time management, project leadership, and people management

Nice To Haves

  • additional training in methods such as Lean and Six Sigma is a plus.
  • additional training in project management and leadership is desirable.
