About The Position

West Monroe is hiring a Manager with experience in electric and gas utility Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and associated solutions to join our Energy and Utilities Practice. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electric/utilities consulting, with a focus on GIS migration and/or implementation (preferably Esri, Schneider Electric, and/or General Electric).
  • At least 5 years of consulting experience in professional services.
  • Working knowledge of GIS, GWD, EAM, APM, WAM, mobility solutions, utility functions, and/or regulatory impacts at Federal and State levels.
  • Experience supporting consulting engagements (e.g., project/program management, system integration, business implementation, change management, business process redesign/optimization).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel (up to 75% annually as necessary).

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of GIS-focused projects for electric and gas utilities, including migration and new platform implementation projects/programs.
  • Facilitate GIS-related business processes and technical requirements workshops to develop process maps, requirements documentation, and KPIs for operational functions (e.g., Engineering, Design, Construction/Development, Operations, Maintenance, Inventory/Supply Chain, System Planning, Asset Performance Management, etc.).
  • Collaborate with project leadership to develop project plans, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality execution and client satisfaction.
  • Manage small teams of project/workstream resources, shared resources, and external partners to deliver client programs effectively.
  • Contribute to the Energy & Utilities consulting practice by supporting the development of methodologies, service offerings, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to identify client needs and support the development of proposals, presentations, work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for potential projects.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-quality work and demonstrating expertise in GIS and utility operations.
  • Support senior leaders in expanding relationships with industry GIS solution providers and consulting partners to enhance collaboration and service offerings.
  • Contribute to the growth of West Monroe's Energy & Utilities Practice by supporting internal initiatives, knowledge sharing, and team development.
  • Participate in thought leadership activities, such as contributing to white papers, internal knowledge repositories, or conference presentations, to enhance the practice’s reputation in GIS/geospatial enablement.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within the team and across the firm.
