About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Serves as a neutral party to investigate and facilitate the resolution of concerns of Team Members and managers homed to Orlando involving allegations of unfair treatment, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Operates in a manner to preserve the confidentiality of those seeking services. Acts as a liaison to NBCUniversal Legal regarding such investigations. Evaluates trends and assists with work environment assessments. Provides recommendations for the resolution of investigations. Manages the company’s “Open Door Plus” a program created to ensure Team Members of fair treatment. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for conducting, coordinating, and handling internal investigations of highly sensitive and/or complex employment-related complaints (i.e., allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, management, work environment, reasonable accommodation, etc.) to ensure issues are resolved in a fair and consistent manner. Reviews cases in the case management system for consistency and calibration purposes. Analyzes case data regularly to build metrics and provide trends to HR Business Partners and Operations. Regularly partners with Legal, HR Business Partners, and NBCU Fair Employment Practices on a variety of sensitive matters. Works with individuals and groups to assess work environments in order to continue the culture of direct relationships with Team Members. Recommends options to Operations and HR Business Partners to help resolve conflicts, problematic issues, or concerns, and to bring systemic concerns to the attention of the organization and HR Business Partners for resolution. Manages the “Open Door Plus” and “Peer Review” programs. Monitor and track appeals. Acts as a facilitator for Peer Review sessions. Maintains and trains a pool of exempt and non-exempt panel volunteers. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, or Business Administration is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive Employee Relations experience, including significant experience conducting investigations required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytic and organizational skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Experience conducting investigations in a corporate environment and ability to conduct investigations with empathy, tact, and discretion
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members and managers
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, project management, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage risk while ensuring optimal outcomes are achieved
