About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager Emergency Medical Services is responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing and teaching education for prehospital personnel, monitoring of the overall quality of prehospital care in the EMS System, instruction of limited public education (e.g., CPR) programs, EMS community groups as needed, and working to ensure the effectiveness of components of the EMS System. There will be travel to agencies and classes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in EMS management or equivalent experiences in the EMS field
  • 5-7 years of experience in emergency services
  • 2-3 years of experience in emergency medical education
  • Strong understanding of all EMS providers and ability to coordinate services provided by EMD, EMR, EMT-Basic, and Paramedic providers.
  • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse or EMT-Paramedic
  • Provider certifications: American Health Association BLS for Healthcare Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) AND Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP)
  • Trauma Certification: Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) OR International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or within 90 days of hire.
  • Illinois Lead Instructor Licensure within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in EMS management or equivalent experiences in the EMS field
  • Ability to speak and present in groups numbering up to 40 people
  • Knowledge of Basic and Advance Life Support equipment
  • Instructor certifications: AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or within the 6 months of hire, if applicable to facility/market.
