About The Position

As a leader in Electric Asset Management, our goal is to ensure our distribution assets deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable energy through strategic asset planning and management. Within this team, the Inspections and Maintenance strategy plays a critical role in optimizing the management of over 2.3 million distribution wood poles and over 80,000 circuit miles of primary conductor.  The team oversees the short-term and long-term I&M strategies, as well as advancing continuous improvement to ensure inspection procedures and technology are updated to incorporate insights from technical testing, failure analysis and Subject Matter Expertise input.  The successful candidate will interface with various external regulatory entities to provide updates on various I&M programs and commitments. There are several compelling initiatives in play that will require a competent, passionate, mission-driven leader to navigate the I&M team through development and delivery: Megabundling Expansion: We are strategically pivoting to circuit-based inspections, to grow the success seen in our “Megabundling” maintenance tag work. This is projected to increase our “eyes on risk”, while saving hundreds of millions of dollars over the next 5 years. Drone based GO165 Certification: In 2026, we will execute an aerial inspection (vs ground) effectiveness pilot, with the intention of approving drone-based data collection to meet criteria required for GO165 detailed inspections. Asset Health Monitoring: With the development of innovative new sensors and A.I./LLMs, we are reimagining the traditional maintenance approach, and assessing opportunities to implement additional touchpoints and/or “continuous monitoring” on some of our assets in order to safely extend life, and redeploy resources to more surgically target known risk. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
