About The Position

The Manager- Dedicated Operations plays a critical leadership role overseeing a Dedicated team at Hirschbach! This position is responsible for training and developing new and existing team members, providing ongoing support, and stepping in as needed to maintain operational continuity. Serving as a key point of contact for both customers and drivers, the Manager - Dedicated Operations handles escalations, resolves inquiries, and ensures a high level of service across assigned accounts and geographic regions. This role leads customer KPI reporting meetings, manages billing functions, and reviews customer billing and reporting for accuracy. The Manager - Dedicated Operations regularly generates operational KPIs, provides customer report-outs, and strives to achieve low deadhead miles to maximize profitability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent in education, paired with relevant professional experience.
  • One year of transportation experience is required.
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and energy.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to navigate between multiple programs.
  • Demonstrates an "All In to Win" attitude and performances displays self-motivation and a strong desire to learn within an unpredictable and demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and leads direct reports, including Driver Leaders, Account Managers, Planners, and Customer Service Representative.
  • Trains and develops new Operations team members and provides ongoing training to current teams.
  • Provides coverage and support to teams as needed.
  • Generates KPIs and provides report outs to customers.
  • Aids as an escalation point of contact for customers and drivers.
  • Manages billing of assigned accounts.
  • Reviews and signs off on customer billing and reporting functions.
  • Serves as the key contact for customer KPI reporting meetings as scheduled per customer.
  • Consistently achieves low deadhead miles to maximize overall profitability.
  • Displays an expert level knowledge of Hours of Service.
  • Serves as a Point of Contact for key customers and oversees customer accounts and geographic areas.
  • Handles customer complaints and inquiries.
  • Displays an expert level understanding of Hirschbach operations and how the freight network functions.
  • Demonstrates expert AS400 proficiencies and can enter data accurately.
  • Oversees the scheduling, customer service, dispatching and planning of key Dedicated accounts.
