About The Position

Carries out district vision for equitable and linguistically responsive instruction in mathematics, working collaboratively with stakeholders. Develops and implements district-wide instructional systems for mathematics intervention including high quality instructional materials, professional learning, and assessments. Builds the capacity of district specialists to provide individualized school support.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of teaching and/or leadership experience in mathematics, including two (2) years with coaching or management responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree - Education or relevant subject area
  • Previous experience working in an urban district with Multilingual Learners
  • Knowledge of best practices in curriculum, instruction, standards-based education, and effective instructional programs and methodologies for mathematics intervention.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel.
  • Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • High degree of integrity in handling confidential information
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Google products including Docs, Sheets, Slides and Gmail.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage, and an acceptable driving record for the past three years.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively creates and implements the comprehensive vision and strategic plan for mathematics intervention in partnership with school-based team members, the schools team, and other academic departments.
  • Identifies and promotes research-based recommendations for instructional strategies, professional learning, assessments, and school structures that increase the quality and effectiveness of math interventions.
  • Creates and facilitates professional learning for school and district leaders aligned to the implementation of high quality instructional materials and intervention best-practices as part of a year-long scope and sequence of professional learning.
  • Develops the capacity of district specialists to provide exemplary customer service and professional learning opportunities to schools on effective instructional systems and practices for mathematics intervention.
  • Develops partnerships with the principal supervision team to ensure school support effectively addresses needs and aligns school intervention plans to best practices.
  • Collaborates with Humanities, Multilingual Education, and Exceptional Student Services to ensure coherent and alignment across functions.
  • Collaboratively implements the district assessment strategy and regularly analyzes data to inform the strategic plan for mathematics intervention.
  • Manages the procurement and implementation of district-wide curricular resources for mathematics intervention.
  • Builds a strong team culture grounded in district values, establishes clear expectations, monitors progress, and holds team members accountable to team goals.
  • Supervises K-12 Mathematics Intervention team members.

  • Salary Range: $87,203 - $106,806 annually.
