About The Position

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. We are seeking a Manager, Corporate FP&A (Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Capex) to elevate how Rivian plans, analyzes, and stewards its balance sheet, liquidity, and capital investments. You will build and run the financial “cockpit” that enables leadership to make high-conviction decisions on cash, working capital, and Capex. Sitting at the intersection of Finance, process design, and AI-powered digital enablement, you will drive core journeys, including consolidated balance sheet and cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and enterprise-wide Capex planning. This role is highly hands-on, requiring three-statement modeling expertise and the ability to navigate complex datasets, leveraging both database and accounting knowledge to ensure our financial trajectory is accurate and automated. Why This Role Matters Stewards Liquidity: Owns high-fidelity balance sheet and cash flow models that inform short- and long-term liquidity strategy. Unlocks Capital: Drives working capital and cash conversion cycle optimization. Elevates Investment: Consolidates enterprise-wide Capex and sharpens investment evaluation frameworks to align spend with strategic priorities. Modernizes Finance: Leverages tools like Oracle EPM, SAP, SQL, and Generative AI platforms to reduce manual work and provide real-time visibility. Shapes the Narrative: Turns complex three-statement interdependencies into clear, concise narratives to support decision-making by the CFO and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, FP&A, or a closely related field, preferably within capital-intensive industries such as automotive, manufacturing, or energy.
  • Expert-level three-statement modeling skills, with a track record of building robust, driver-based models that tightly link operational drivers to balance sheet and cash flow outputs.
  • Proven experience owning consolidated balance sheet and cash flow forecasts for a business unit or enterprise, including scenario building and executive reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement frameworks for Capex ROI, capital allocation, and/or working capital optimization that drive measurable financial improvement.
  • Proficiency with enterprise performance management tools (e.g., Oracle EPM) and accounting systems (e.g., SAP). Experience with using SQL to combine financial and accounting data is a strong plus.
  • Experience partnering closely with IT, Finance Systems, Data, and cross-functional business teams to implement new tools, models, or reporting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders, including C-suite and Board audiences, through concise, data-backed narratives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a quantitative field; or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end consolidated balance sheet and cash flow forecasting engine, ensuring models are driver-based and tightly integrated with P&L and operational plans.
  • Develop high-fidelity models that quantify runway and provide the analytical foundation for Rivian’s liquidity and Free Cash Flow strategy.
  • Standardize how financial scenarios, sensitivities, and stress tests are built to enable fast decision-making under uncertainty.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize working capital across inventory, payables, and receivables.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Accounting to connect operational levers (build schedules, payment terms) to cash conversion outcomes.
  • Develop dashboards that track DSO, DPO, DIO, and overall CCC performance to provide real-time visibility into cash drivers.
  • Oversee the consolidation and forecasting of enterprise-wide Capex, ensuring plans are aligned to strategic milestones and funding capacity.
  • Enhance Capex evaluation frameworks (ROI, payback, IRR, NPV) to support disciplined investment decisions and consistent prioritization.
  • Provide portfolio-level insights into Capex trade-offs and sequencing to help leadership balance growth and risk.
  • Enhance the financial reporting ecosystem by utilizing AI platforms and SQL to automate complex data flows.
  • Collaborate with Finance Systems and IT to move the team beyond spreadsheet-based processes toward a tech-enabled environment.
  • Maintain self-service tools and source-of-truth dashboards that enable Finance partners to operate with confidence and autonomy.
  • Translate complex three-statement interdependencies into clear, actionable insights for CFO, executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Lead change around new tools, processes, and frameworks, ensuring stakeholders understand why changes are needed, how they work, and what outcomes they unlock.
  • Build strong, transparent partnerships with Treasury, Accounting, Investor Relations, Business Finance, and Operations to drive alignment and shared ownership of outcomes.
