I. Job Summary Under the direction of the Sr. Director, Compliance Audit Services, the Manager will oversee auditor training, coordinate and implement audit procedures to help ensure that the Program is providing independent and objective Environmental, Health & Safety and transportation compliance reviews of company operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree (accredited) in Environmental Studies, Public Health, Engineering, Biology or Science or a similar field of study
  • Seven (7) years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement).
  • Experience managing employees.
  • Experience conducting environmental or health and safety compliance audits.
  • Knowledge of Federal (EPA) and State environmental and/or OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to learn new systems and operations quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with field clients and management.
  • Able to work as a team member/leader with people of differing backgrounds and experience levels.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise audit staff and provide direction to communicate standard audit practices and procedures.
  • Conduct compliance audits with audit staff to help assess compliance, audit program implementation and efficiency.
  • Review internal and external auditors reports, audit corrective actions and closure activities ensuring consistent due diligence, accuracy, and adherence to program procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide personnel training and coaching and evaluate employees performance.
  • Assist with development of audit schedule and manage selection of staff to complete environmental, safety and DOT audit assignments.
  • Organize resources necessary to implement audits; including continually improving audit tools and training materials.
