The Compensation and Benefits team assists clients and RSM professionals across the firm with respect to a variety of compensation related issues including retirement plans, executive compensation, fringe benefits and other payroll-related tax issues. Members of the team follow firm and team processes to lead client projects and communication while working with a team of individuals and assisting to train others. Overview: As a Manager, you will lead and conduct analysis, design, and implementation of tailored compensation programs that meet our clients' needs and objectives. This role offers the opportunity to further develop your expertise in compensation consulting while making an impact on our clients' success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting from an accredited university.
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained: Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA If not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney, Enrolled agent or one of the following certifications: SHRM-CP Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional SHRM-SCP – Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional PHR-HR Certification Institute Professional in Human Resources SPHR-HR Certification Institute Senior Professional in Human Resources CCP – Certified Compensation Professional GRP – Global Renumeration Professional CECP – Certified Executive Compensation Professional CSGP – Certified Sale Compensation Professional CBP - Certified Benefits Professional
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with firm personnel and clients along with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with firm personnel and clients
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and manage a team to achieve operational or project goals; ability to serve as a Performance Advisor; and strong attention to detail with effective time‑management, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including meeting client service and performance goals
  • Demonstrates project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy without compromising quality of work product
  • Ability to work in high pressure environments and maintain concentration while sitting at a desk and working on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel to office regularly and client sites as needed
  • Client service mindset, ensuring high-quality support, responsiveness, and collaborative engagement with tax teams, internal teams, and clients.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended non-standard hours during peak periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Qualified and Non-qualified Retirement Plans
  • MBA with 2 years external compensation consulting
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task within high volume environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to learn quickly, deal with ambiguity, and think independently and critically
  • Experience working with project management technologies/tools (Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Experience using specific compensation tools (i.e. ERI, CompAnalyst)
  • Workday HCM experience

Responsibilities

  • Client Support: Provide direction, instruction, execution on client engagements, including conducting research, data analysis, and preparing client deliverables, gathering client requirements, and documenting findings. Assist in presenting recommendations to the client.
  • Compensation Consulting: Lead, manage and conduct medium-scale compensation projects, on topics such as executive compensation, pay structure development, short and long-term incentive plan assessment and design, market pricing, and Intermediate Sanctions analysis.
  • Prospect/Project Management: Support sales efforts through proposal and engagement development (scoping, pricing, and timeline). Build cross-functional project teams, ensuring timely delivery, on budget quality outcomes, and client acceptance.
  • Tool building: Develop tools, frameworks, and methodologies to address evolving compensation needs.
  • Learning and Development: Continuously expand your knowledge of compensation principles, incentive design techniques through training and self-study. Seek opportunities to learn and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Monitor and understand regulatory changes, industry standards and macroeconomic trends related to compensation and how they may impact clients. Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
  • Collaboration and networking: Actively build relationships within the team and firm. Work collaboratively with team members across functions and lines of business to deliver high-quality solutions and exceed client expectations.
